About the event

What are Gurdjieff's Sacred Dances and Samadeva Yoga?

Gurdjieff's Sacred Dances and Movements and Samadeva Yoga are two complementary disciplines that combine sacred dances and the traditional art of meditation in movement. Its practice leads us to a state of presence and consciousness. These dances and movements are accessible to all, since they do not require great strength, resistance or elasticity. Its objective is to awaken us from our usual "mechanical" functioning through unusual postures, movements and sequences. Thanks to these movements we can dissolve our physical, emotional and mental patterns since the body, mind and emotions are intimately related.

Some benefits of practicing these dances and movements are:

  • stress reduction
  • Increase in cognitive and psychomotor capacity
  • Restoration of flexibility and tone of the spine, joints and muscle relaxation
  • Harmonization of the circulation of the vital energy of the body
  • Strengthening of the body and the psyche, improving its ability to face all life situations.
  • Increased body awareness which improves the ability to express oneself through dance and movement

Dance masters such as G. I Gurdjieff, and currently I. Lahore, to whom we owe the transmission of Samadeva Yoga, observed how, in various traditions, music and dance were used as instruments of transformation, of evolution of the human being and for the transmission of certain knowledge. They transmitted movements and dances establishing a bridge between the esoteric knowledge of the East and the scientific methods of the West.

In these workshops Tali Yeger and Thomas Sebastién will share with you an introduction to these disciplines, preparatory exercises and some dances. It is a great opportunity to live a new and perhaps revealing experience for you.
